Experiences of gender-based violence and harassment may impact someone’s sense of safety in the place that they reside. The list of resources below is not intended to be an exhaustive list, and other support may be available based on the individual’s needs and circumstances. Housing resources can often be location specific. The Gender Violence Services Coordinators (confidential), the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office (private), and the Dean of Students (private) can help to identify additional resources based on an individual’s location on campus, in North Carolina and elsewhere.
- Based on individual need and circumstances, options may exist for a student to make changes to their on-campus housing assignment including room or building relocation. - Based on individual need and circumstances, options may exist for a student to access temporary emergency on campus or in the nearby community. - Compass Center (confidential) may be able to assist residents of Orange County in exploring options for short-term emergency housing in cases of domestic violence.
- The Durham Crisis Response Center (confidential) may be able to assist individuals seeking emergency housing in Durham County.
- InterAct (confidential) may be able to assist individuals seeking emergency housing in Wake County.
