Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and the Gender Violence Services Coordinators (GVSCs) invite you to join us for an hour-long virtual self-care workshop dedicated to victims/survivors and their friends. Sometimes, Relationship Violence Awareness Month (RVAM) can feel impactful and can possibly lead to increased feelings of anxiety or overwhelm for survivors. When these feelings come up it can be helpful to dedicate some time to self-care which is ultimately a practice of being kind to yourself and listening to your needs. During the workshop we will practice a variety of activities based in gentle movement, writing, and mindfulness. This skills-based workshop is a great way to reconnect with yourself and learn new self-care practices to use in the future. This space is for you, and you are welcome to show up just as you are. This workshop will not focus on disclosure or sharing your experiences and you are welcome to simply take in the activities or reflect on your experience as you wish.
Two virtual workshops will take place Friday, October 15th from 12:00-1:00 and Tuesday October 26th from 4:00-5:00. You are welcome to attend one or both workshops. No prior experience is necessary, and we hope you will be able to join us! The GVSCs will also be available for virtual “on-site” confidential support for participants during this time. Please register to attend one or both workshops here: https://forms.office.com/r/bnUGgCdjt9
