Seeking to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM 2013) kicks off on Monday, April 1st with The Clothesline Project at UNC. This is a display that will go up in Polk Place from April 1-3 and consists of clotheslines strung across the quad with t-shirts designed by survivors of sexual violence used to help raise awareness about sexual violence and show support for survivors. If you would like to donate plain t-shirts, or are a survivor/second-hand survivor and would like to anonymously design a shirt to hang on the clothesline, you can drop them off at the Carolina Women’s Center, the Orange County Rape Crisis Center, or the Campus Y.
SAAM 2013 will also feature a number of events throughout April, including film screenings, workshops and trainings, and Human Trafficking Awareness Week.
