One Act

One Act is 3-fold:

  1. It is a four-hour training for interpersonal violence (IPV) prevention and intervention that gives individuals the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognize signs of IPV and take preventative action – all to help create a safer Carolina and community.
  2. It is a student group organization of three committees: Peer Education, Events, and Public Relations/Outreach that runs the four-hour training, organizes campus events, and reinforces the importance of IPV prevention and intervention to the student body throughout the year.
  3. It is also an acronym for a method of intervention: if we all begin by taking ONE ACTion, we’ll see a reduction in interpersonal violence on our campus. You can choose to act by:
  • Asking for help,
  • Creating a distraction, or
  • Talking directly
