Students, faculty, staff and Post Doctoral Fellows work closely with the towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro to create a safe environment for all community members.  UNC-CH is grateful for those in the community who have been involved with violence and harassment prevention and response.  Some of these efforts are included below.

Training for the Community

Local restaurant or bar owners and managers who serve alcohol in their establishments can send staff to the Raise the Bar training to learn about how to address violence and harassment in their establishments. You can also connect with the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership to get involved in University programs and events.

Hollaback! Durham and Chapel Hill

Join Hollaback! Durham and Chapel Hill, a youth-led collective of activists, in opening up dialogue around street harassment. They aim to create strong ties between community members so that together, community members can envision and build a society where everyone walks down the street comfortable in their own skin.

Volunteer with a Community Organization

Community members who are interested in supporting survivors are encouraged to consider volunteering with our local partner agencies, the Compass Center for Women and Families and Orange County Rape Crisis Center.
