About

This website is intended to be a main portal for students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders at The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill around the topic of interpersonal violence, including stalking, abusive relationships, and sexual assault.

All data and information provided on this site is for informational purposes only. It is not intended to:

  • diagnose any medical condition
  • determine whether a crime has occurred
  • replace a professional (ie. medical, legal, etc)

Please utilize the resources and phone numbers on this site to seek help beyond this basic information when it is safe for you to do so.

This website was redesigned and updated in Summer 2011 as it was renamed “SAFE@UNC.” The site was previously known as “Project S.A.F.E.” (Safety Information Access For Everyone) and was designed and hosted by the Carolina Women’s Center through grant funding.

Thanks to everyone from various offices and departments who helped edit this website, especially the members of SARVTAE, and special thanks to Nicole Kendrot for the redesign of this site in Summer 2011.
