Sustaining Healthy Relationships in LGBTQ Communities
This three-session (1.5 hours per week) workshop is led by Carolina students, for Carolina students who are interested in learning how to cre
ate and sustaining healthy relationships in LGBTQ communities. While the information is applicable to people of all sexual orientations, the group will be centered on the experiences of LGBTIQ, Two Spirit, Same Gender Loving, and Ally communities.
Participation will increase your knowledge of characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships, awareness of your desired characteristics in a relationship or partner, knowledge of conflict resolution skills, awareness about interpersonal violence, and knowledge of bystander and ally skills.
This workshop acknowledges the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ-identified folks and attempts to connect participants to LGBTQ-specific resources. Participants will receive a certificate of completion and a sticker with the logo.
These sessions are a collaborative project among the LGBTQ Center, Student Wellness, and APPLES Service-Learning.
